“I just completed the 4th session of Dr. Rachel Tidd’s Taking Math Outdoors and I just had to email to say…WOW! Likely the best online learning that I have done with the Outdoor Learning Store. She is an engaging presenter full of practical ways that we can improve our teaching practices outdoors. Amazing how responsive she was to add the assessment piece at the end in response to participants’ questions. Thank you for bringing this learning to us!! I will be incorporating many of the instructional routines in my own practice and use this knowledge as a way to support other teachers in their outdoor journeys!” -Liz

“What I found the most valuable were the hands on, affordable take and go activities. So many great ideas for multiple levels of math with things we already have access to. Also, the book list!” –2025 workshop participant
Travel Expenses:
In-person events more than 2 hours from Ithaca, NY incur additional travel costs, including airfare (typically from ITH/ELM, but may vary based on location/flight availability, such as ROC), milage, hotel, and ground transportation. She is located in New York State (USA).
Affordability:
I recognize that cost is a concern for many schools and organizations. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your specific situation and options. Travel accommodation costs can be reduced if someone in your organization can provide transportation from the airport/event/hotel, or if someone has an Airbnb and can donate it for the visit (private unit and bath required).
I also encourage schools and organizations to coordinate visits and share the transportation/accommodation, and even speaking costs. Sharing costs is also possible for webinars.
I offer a few low-fee sessions per year for nonprofit organizations, schools, or groups that could not otherwise access this learning. Please reach out via email to discuss options and availability.
