We tend to think linearly, and the stories we read to children reflect that! Problem- solution, cause, and effect…
But not all stories are structured that way!
Circular stories start and end in the same place and are a great way to get kids thinking more holistically!
This freebie includes a list of circular story books (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Where the Wild Things Are, and more), some background information, this worksheet, and directions on how to introduce this type of thinking to your learner(s).
I hope to create more activities that support learning this and other essential thinking skills. I have posted about some systems thinking activities I did with students in a literature unit!
Hopefully, this will help you get started!
