Author meet and greet/signing/book clubs: Interested in having Rachel meet with your book club or group for Q&A and conversation? These are typically informal virtual sessions where participants can ask questions and talk with Rachel about the book and outdoor learning. These are offered as her schedule allows and are typically low-cost as she wants to support Wild Learning in schools and programs! If you are a school or small group, please reach out! In-person events are available within 2-3 hours from the Ithaca, NY area; farther locations will require travel expenses.
Podcasts and more: If you are interested in having Rachel as a guest on your podcast or other platform, send us an email support@discoverwildlearning.com.
Curriculum or Program Consulting: Need help integrating outdoor learning, sustainability, or place-based learning and meeting state/provincial requirements or designing a new curriculum for your school or program? Rachel can help you integrate and craft a program for your class, school, or program. In addition to the Wild Learning curricula series, as part of her doctoral work, Rachel focused on curriculum development and pilot-tested an integrated ELA and sustainability unit in public schools in Canada and the US. She has a particular interest in meeting science of reading/structured literacy/research-based instruction with outdoor learning.
Homeschool help: Due to Rachel’s schedule, she is no longer offering general 1:1 homeschool consultations.
Affordability:
I realize that cost is an issue for many schools and organizations. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your specific situation and we can discuss options. Travel accommodation fees can be reduced if person/s in your organization can provide transportation from the airport/event/hotel, or if someone has an Airbnb, they are able to donate for the visit (private unit and bath required). I also encourage schools and organizations to coordinate visits and share the transportation/accommodation and even speaking costs. Sharing costs is also possible for webinars.
I offer a few low-fee/no-fee sessions per year for nonprofit organizations, schools, or groups that could not otherwise access this learning. Please reach out via email to discuss options and availability. Note: These are very limited for 2025 as I complete my research in schools across Canada and the US and finish my doctorate.
